I’ve often enjoyed the beautiful blooms along the Broad Run Creek of the wildflower “Dame’s Rocket”.  I’ve since learned that it’s an invasive species that’s not welcomed in our area!  It seems to be holding it’s own…apparently no one knows to pull it up.  It’s a beautiful splash of color among all of the vibrant spring greens along the wetlands.  It is often mistaken with Garden Phlox, mistaken by myself included

High winds and overcast skies kept my friends and I from realizing optimal images of birds in flight with dramatic light last weekend at Bombay Hook NWR.  I think this was my favorite shot of the day, which if conditions would have been better, I would have never gotten.

The Jet Star roller coaster broke away from Casino Pier in Seaside Heights, NJ during Hurricane Sandy last fall.  I made it up there with a couple of friends to get this once in a life time (hopefully) image.

Caught a beautiful crescent moon in the pre-dawn hour before sunrise on Sunday morning at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge.  Unfortunately, rising at 4:30 am didn’t get me there in time to catch it right at the horizon.  I guess that’s for another day….

Twenty-two named waterfalls in Ricketts Glen State Park…and 80% of the images I post here on my website, as well as my Flickr site, are of Oneida Falls.  It’s my favorite waterfall in the Park.  By far it’s not the biggest…or tallest.  It doesn’t have a crazy cascade that sends white water in all directions.  There’s no real roar when you’re standing next to her.  It’s pretty unassuming.  Maybe…that’s what draws me in.

From my second to last photo shoot of 2012.  After having just two trace snowfalls last year, I headed out immediately last week during our first measurable snowfall of the winter…fearing it may very well be our only snow of the season!  I spent a wonderful couple of hours with the Glen Hope covered bridge.
